Terms of Use

Last updated: 13 June 2026

These terms apply to your use of the Explorum app and the experiences you complete through it. By using the app, you accept these terms.

1. Use of location data

To deliver location-based experiences, the Explorum app requires access to your current geographical location. When you complete an experience, your location is used solely to identify your position relative to the experience's waypoints and to guide you forward.

Location data is not logged or stored after the experience ends. You can revoke the app's access to your location at any time in your device settings, but this will prevent the app from functioning correctly.

2. Participation at own risk

Experiences in the Explorum app take place outdoors and may involve physical activity. You are solely responsible for your own safety and must assess whether an experience is suitable for yourself and any companions.

Explorum I/S accepts no liability for personal injury, property damage, or loss arising from participation in an experience. It is your own responsibility to comply with local regulations and traffic laws and to take necessary precautions.

3. Minors

Children under 15 should complete experiences accompanied by an adult. Experiences may involve moving through traffic and unfamiliar terrain, and parents or guardians are responsible for assessing whether an experience is suitable for their child.

4. Third-party content

Experiences in Explorum are created by third parties, including museums, municipalities, and local experts. Explorum I/S is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or currency of the content published by content creators. Responsibility for factual information in an experience rests with the content creator in question.

5. Technical limitations

GPS signal may be unreliable indoors, in densely built areas, in tunnels, or in poor weather conditions. Explorum I/S is not responsible for errors or interruptions caused by lack of GPS signal, network issues, or other technical circumstances beyond our control.

The app is not a navigation or safety device. In emergencies, please contact the emergency services on 112.

6. Paid experiences, right of withdrawal and refunds

When you purchase an experience in Explorum, you gain access to the digital content described on the experience page. Payment is made via the payment methods offered in the app or on the website.

Right of withdrawal

Explorum's experiences are digital services delivered immediately after purchase.

By completing the purchase, you explicitly agree that delivery of the digital content begins immediately. You also acknowledge that your 14-day right of withdrawal lapses once delivery of the digital content has begun.

To complete the purchase, you must confirm the following:

»I accept that delivery of the digital content begins immediately after purchase, and I acknowledge that my 14-day right of withdrawal thereby lapses.«

Technical issues with paid experiences

If a purchased experience cannot be completed due to a fault in the Explorum platform or in the experience content itself, Explorum will endeavour to remedy the issue as quickly as possible.

If the issue cannot be resolved within a reasonable time, the user is entitled to either:

  • access to a comparable experience, or
  • a full or partial refund of the purchase price, depending on the extent of the issue.

Limitations on refunds

Refunds are not normally granted if issues are caused by:

  • lack of internet connectivity,
  • lack of GPS signal,
  • faults or limitations on the user's device,
  • missing app permissions (e.g. location services, camera or notifications),
  • failure to meet the technical requirements specified for the experience.

Requesting a refund

If you experience technical issues with a paid experience, please contact Explorum as soon as possible and no later than 30 days after the date of purchase.

Your request should include information about:

  • the purchased experience,
  • the time the issue occurred,
  • the device and app version used,
  • a description of the fault.

Misuse

Explorum reserves the right to decline a refund if there is reasonable cause to believe that the experience was completed in full or substantially, and that the claimed fault did not materially affect the user's ability to complete the experience, or if there is evidence of misuse of the refund or support arrangement.

7. Changes to these terms

Explorum reserves the right to update these terms. Changes will be published here with an effective date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
